AN/FRT-52

Radio Transmitting Set, HF, 2-28 MHz. Provides multichannel long range communications using SSB, DSB, ISB, CW or AM. Capable of transmitting four 3 KHz channels of intelligence in a multiplexed communications system. Average output power is 5 KW with CW or AM and 10 KW (PEP) with SSB. Freq control with the O-330B/FR Radio Frequency Oscillator is continous throughout the range with a stability of less than 20 Hz per day. In addition, 10 crystal controlled channels are available. Unit has a built-in sideband monitor and analyzer with CRT display. Exciter output tube is a 6146 and the PA tube is a 4CX5000A. 230 vac, 3 ph. MFR: TMC. TM 11-5820-475-12.

AN/GRA-72

Antenna, HF, Hard Receive, 2-30 MHz. The antenna element consists of a 120 ft length of copper wire covered with a thick polyethlene dielectric. Pulse arresters spaced 3 ft apart are placed around the antenna element. The antenna, buried at a nominal depth of 3 ft is laid in a stairstep design. The antenna is joined at its electrical midpoint by an RG-218/ U coaxial cable, which is routed through a conduit to an electrical surge arrester and then to the radio set group.
